PETA Campaigns Look to Turn Carnivores Green Essay -- Animal Rights
Vegetarianism, PETA touts it as a cure-all for obesity in their ad campaigns calling for folks to ditch meat and eat plant-based meals. This series has been going on for well over a decade but really seems be picking up speed these past few years when they began pairing US celebrities with vegetables be it in fancy dress made of different vegetables or bare naked amongst bushels of their favorite edible plant. Along with the fit bodied celebrity and their vegetables, there is a message included, an offer of free vegetarian recipes if you visit their website. The message is clear PETA wants us to stop eating animal meat and they are willing to use fit body celebs and free recipes to do it. I think these ads are effective strategies for swaying consumer who is always looking for the next big thing to be a part of that involves a celebrity spokes model. The latest print ad to come from PETA is the provocative Angela Simmons print ad, in which she can only be described as being Eve of Eden in all her nude glory. The ad stating that eating Meat is a Sin, this may be more tuned toward religious carnivores but the visual is definitely aimed toward those who enjoy a teasing naked woman, because the ad is nothing less than sexy. Her dark hair spilling forth loose and wavy over her shoulders hiding bare breasts, her right hit turned out a chain of ivy laid along it; most prominent is her smooth, young face almost a reflection of the beautiful red apple she holds just beneath her chin in her right palm, while the heel of her left hand rests gently against her cheek. Her arm is raised and slightly twists, winding its way up through her hair, reminding me of a serpent, I believe this to be an intentional subliminal bit withi... ...ebsites to bash companies who mistreat their livestock. These methods are directed toward the consumers who, without this type of advertising would ever realize there was a problem or even what PETA was. So in the end PETAââ¬â¢s envelope is pushed by the consumer because the consumer thinks and is influenced by advertising; and the more attention getting the advertising is, the more likely the consumer is to pay attention and be swayed to your side of the table if it is an ad campaign they (the consumer) can relate to and quite frankly nearly every consumer can relate to sexy. How does Macbethââ¬â¢s and Lady Macbethââ¬â¢s relationship change throughout the course of the play? Essay
Witches nowadays are seen as a bit of a joke and a laugh since they are used for entertainment like in the ââ¬ËHarry Potterââ¬â¢ novels, or when it is Halloween and children (and sometimes even adults) dress up as witches for fun or for trick and treating. Overall, Witches in modern times are not taken seriously but people were a lot more superstitious back when Queen Elizabeth I reigned as Queen of England; people in those times had a real fear and belief of witches. Their superstition was the product of the churchââ¬â¢s teachings, yet, when Queen Elizabeth died and the new King James I of England and Scotland, succeeded to the throne; he was someone who was both obsessed and intrigued by witches. This new King was fascinated by the subject, a fact that William Shakespeare had to take on board. Shakespeare had to impress King James in order to enter his good books and keep his high status and wealth. This is because William Shakespeare was Queen Elizabethââ¬â¢s official playwright and when she died, he risked losing his living and high social status. By using his playwrightââ¬â¢s talents, some background research on the Kingââ¬â¢s ancestors and his fascination of witches to his advantage, he created his infamous play, ââ¬ËMacbethââ¬â¢, which captured King Jamesââ¬â¢ attention and kept Shakespeare as the official playwright. Macbeth was a successful soldier in the army of King Duncan. After the battle, Macbeth meets three witches who tell him that he is to become Thane of Cawdor and King. As part of the same prophecy, the Witches predict that future Kings will be descended not from Macbeth but from his fellow army captain, Banquo. ââ¬Å"(First Witch) All hail Macbeth, hail to thee Thane of Glamis. (Second Witch) All hail Macbeth, hail to thee Thane of Cawdor. (Third Witch) All hail Macbeth, that shalt be King hereafterâ⬠. Banquo also receives a prophecy from the witches, ââ¬Å"Thou shalt get kings, though thou be noneâ⬠. Shortly after, Macbeth receives news that King Duncan has honoured him with the title, Thane of Cawdor. Although initially prepared to wait for fate to take its course, Macbeth is ambitious and sudden confusion arises when King Duncan nominates his son Malcolm as his heir. Macbeth is tempted and writes to his wife giving her the news. Lady Macbeth, upon hearing Macbethââ¬â¢s promotion, calls upon evil spirits to help them achieve greatness; she dabbles with the dark arts and performs witchcraft in order to help her and her husband make the witchesââ¬â¢ prophecies come true. It is here that we see Lady Macbethââ¬â¢s true colours, it shows us that she is the more ambitious of the two as she has immediately taken steps to fulfill the prophecy and that she is the one who is more dominant in her actions. ââ¬Å"Glamis thou art, and Cawdor, and shalt be what thou art promisââ¬â¢d: yet do I fear thy nature, it is too full oââ¬â¢ thââ¬â¢ milk of humane kindness, to catch the nearest way.â⬠(Act 1, Scene 5) Returning to his castle, Macbethââ¬â¢s ambitious wife, Lady Macbeth, tells her husband of her plan to murder Duncan and persuades Macbeth. It is here that we see the status of their relationship and realize that Lady Macbeth is ââ¬Å"wearing the trousersâ⬠in this relationship. She is in control and can easily manipulate her husband. Macbeth realises that the murder of the king is the quickest way to achieve the destiny that her husband had been promised and when King Duncan pays a royal visit to Macbethââ¬â¢s castle, Lady Macbeth sees this as the perfect opportunity to bring the prophecy to life. It is here that we see the dramatic irony take place. Both Macbeth, Lady Macbeth and the audience know that King Duncan will die once he stays over at Macbethââ¬â¢s, but King Duncan himself does not know that his fate has been sealed. Here, we see the couple call each other endearments, for example, Macbeth calls Lady Macbeth ââ¬Å"My dearest loveâ⬠(Act 1, Scene 5), which suggests that they are a loving couple but at first Macbeth hesitates about killing King Duncan and Lady Macbeth is outraged, she takes control and scolds him, prevailing upon him again and again, which shows us she pushes and blackmails him revealing the positions in their relationship. She questions his manhood, ââ¬Å"When you durst do it,â⬠she says, ââ¬Å"then you were a manâ⬠. Lady Macbeth wins out, she drugs the guards of the kingââ¬â¢s bedchamber; then, at a given signal, Macbeth ascends to the Kingââ¬â¢s room and murders him while he sleeps. Lady Macbeth says she could not have killed King Duncan because he resembled her father, a figure which Lady Macbeth loved and cared for. ââ¬Å"Had he not resembled My father as he slept, I had doneââ¬â¢tâ⬠. Haunted by what he has done, Macbeth is once more scolded by his wife. It is here that we see Macbeth weaken and Lady Macbeth take almost complete control of their relationship. Suddenly, both are alarmed by a loud knocking at the castle door, but again, it is Lady Macbeth who takes control. The drunken porter of Macbethââ¬â¢s castle opens the door to Macduff, a loyal follower of the king, who has been asked to awaken Duncan in preparation for the return journey. Macbeth, concealing the bloody truth, signals the location of the Kingââ¬â¢s room and Macduff heads towards it. He discovered the Kingââ¬â¢s body. When the murder is revealed, Macbeth kills the prime witnesses, the sleepy guards of the kingââ¬â¢s bedchamber, and Lady Macbeth faints. The lords of Scotland present, including Macbeth, swear to avenge the murder. The Kingââ¬â¢s two sons flee in fear that they might be next, and this action raises suspicion that they might be the culprits. Donalbain flees to Ireland and Malcolm flees to raise an army in England. Macbeth is crowned the new king of Scotland, but, because of Banquoââ¬â¢s knowledge of the witchesââ¬â¢ prophecy, Macbeth sees no other choice but to kill his friend, Banquo and his son Fleance, as he will be the successor after Macbeth. They both pose a threat to Macbeth but Macbeth does not tell Lady Macbeth of his plans this time, this shows he still cares for her and does not want her hands to be covered in blood anymore, thus taking on a more dominant role in their relationship. The hired murderers kill Banquo but Fleance escapes. At a banquet that night, Macbeth sees Banquoââ¬â¢s ghost at the dinner table and the audience see Macbeth weaken greatly as the ghost appears. Again, his wife tries to strengthen Macbeth. We see Lady Macbeth showing some of her irritation towards Macbeth, she is genuinely worried about him as she cannot see what he can and is trying to calm him, but on the other hand, she is also scolding him, desperate to save her neck and his, as she is trying to stop him from confessing Duncanââ¬â¢s murder. ââ¬Å"O proper stuff: This is the very painting of your fear: This is the air-drawn dagger which you said Led you to Duncan. O, these flaws and starts (Imposters to true fear) would well become A womanââ¬â¢s story, at a winterââ¬â¢s fire Authorizââ¬â¢d by her grandma: shame itself, Why do you make such faces? When allââ¬â¢s done You look but on a stool.â⬠(Act 3, Scene 4). In the next scene, Macbeth returns to the Witches. The Witches not only confirm that the sons of Banquo will rule in Scotland, but they also add a new prophecy: Macbeth will be invincible in battle until the time when the forest of Birnam moves towards his stronghold at Dunsinane, ââ¬Å"Macbeth shall never be vanquishââ¬â¢d be, until Great Birnam Wood, to high Dunsinane Hill Shall come against him.â⬠(Act 4, Scene 1). They also predict that no man born of a woman shall hurt Macbeth, ââ¬Å"Be bloody, bold and resolute: Laugh to scorn The power of man: for none of woman born shall harm Macbeth.â⬠(Act 4, Scene 1). Ignoring both of these predictions because he thought they were nonsense, Macbeth prepares for invasion. When he is told that Macduff has deserted him, Macbeth begins the final stage of his tragic descent. His first move is the destruction of Macduffââ¬â¢s family; his wife and children. In England, Macduff receives the news at the very moment that he swears his allegiance to the young Malcolm. Malcolm persuades him that the murder of his family should act as the spur to revenge, ââ¬Å"Be comforted. Letââ¬â¢s make medicines of our great revenge, To cure this deadly grief.â⬠Meanwhile, in Scotland, Lady Macbeth has been taken ill: She walks in her sleep and seems to recall, in fragmentary memories, the details of the murder. It is here that she has no control over their relationship, moreover, her own sanity. Macbeth hears of her sanity deteriorating, yet he does not sound like he cares in the slightest, he sounds cold, emotionless, all he does is tell the doctor to ââ¬Å"Cleanse the stuffââ¬â¢d bosom, of that perilous stuff Which weighs upon the heartâ⬠. In the end, she eventually falls to her death from the castleââ¬â¢s battlements. We do not know whether it was her insanity that caused her suicide, or the evil spirits that consumed her soul. Macbeth hears her scream, as he is informed of Lady Macbethââ¬â¢s death, he acts as if he doesnââ¬â¢t care, he cold-heartedly said ââ¬Å"she should have died hereafterâ⬠, his speech is pessimistic and full of despair which spells the end of their once loving relationship. Malcolmââ¬â¢s attacking army is advancing while Macbethââ¬â¢s defenses are preparing. When Malcolmââ¬â¢s army disguise themselves with sawn-off branches from Birnam Wood, Macbeth sees what appears to be a wood moving towards his stronghold at Dunsinane. When he finally meets Macduff in single combat, his sworn enemy reveals that he came into the world by caesarean section; he was not, precisely speaking, ââ¬Å"of woman bornâ⬠, (Act 4, Scene 1). On hearing this news, Macbeth rejects one final time the Witchesââ¬â¢ prophecy. With a loud cry, he launches himself at Macduff and is slain thus revealing the final twist to this tragedy. In the final scene, Malcolm is crowned as the new king of Scotland, to the acclaim of all. At first, Macbeth had a casual, loving relationship with Lady Macbeth. However, both their ambitions led them astray. Firstly, the relationship began to change when Macbeth became more dominant. This was when he ordered Banquo and his son Fleance murdered. ââ¬Å"Be innocent of the knowledge, dearest chuckâ⬠, by saying this, not only is Macbeth protecting his wife, he is also taking on a more dominant role in their relationship. Clearly, he still loves his wife as he is protecting her. However, there is another twist in their marriage. In act 3 scene 4, we see the appearance of Banquoââ¬â¢s ghost at the banquet which only Macbeth can see, because of this; Macbeth is reduced to a weak, helpless man. Meanwhile, his wife, unsure of what is going on, appears to be sure footed and most definitely stronger than her husband. She scolds him and questions his manhood, ââ¬Å"Are you a man?â⬠Drawing to the end of the play, we see Macbeth take control again, while Lady Macbeth is slowly deteriorating along with her relationship to Macbeth, her mind is flooded with guilt and paranoia. We see the end of their relationship when Lady Macbeth falls off the battlements of the castle to her death. We do not know whether it was her guilt that caused her to commit suicide, or the evil spirits consuming her soul and driving her to die. Macbeth feels no emotion upon hearing of her death; instead he says life is meaningless and has no purpose, ââ¬Å"is a tale Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing.â⬠This is the end of their relationship. The audience initially has a good impression of their relationship. They called each other endearments and protected each other. In act 3, scene 2, we see Macbeth protecting his wife from finding out the bloody truth, even though he had performed evil deeds, the audience wouldââ¬â¢ve thought of him as a ââ¬Ëgood personââ¬â¢ or a loving husband beneath the blood stained ambition. In act 1, scene 5 however, Lady Macbeth reveals her true colours by calling forth evil spirits to aid her ambition to kill Duncan. Also, in act 4, scene 1, we see Macbethââ¬â¢s true colours when he meets the witches for help. The audience now sees him as too deep in the blood for him to carry on, his time will come. When Lady Macbeth dies, he shows coldness, which creates hatred from the audience towards Macbeth. Indeed, his time comes, when he faces Macduff, and is slain. The audience now sees the classic victory over evil, performed by the good. In conclusion, Macbethââ¬â¢s relationship with lady Macbeth slowly deteriorates throughout the course of the play, it seems that the more blood drenched onto Macbethââ¬â¢s hand, the more dominant he grew and this weakened Lady Macbethââ¬â¢s mental state. The audience sees them as a loving couple at first, calling each other endearments protecting each other, but their actions caught up with them, and they faced the consequences of meddling with the evil spirits. Their relationship is like a candle, slowly burning, burning through the wax, slowly deteriorating, until there is nothing left.

Beethoven Essay - 706 Words
The rise of Ludwig van Beethoven into the rank of historyââ¬â¢s greatest composers was paralleled by and in some ways a consequence of his own personal tragedy and despair. Beethovenââ¬â¢s family was of the Flemish origin. His mother, Maria Magdalena, died after a long illness when Beethoven was only 17. He was not the only child in this family though. He had 2 brothers and 1 sister, both to which were disorganized and unruly. His family was always in constant need of funds. Beethoven showed his extraordinary musical talent at an early age. In 1802, he wrote a letter to his brother describing his anguish. He asked his brother to read the letter at the funeral. His suffering had a brief respite when he soon fell in love with a young countess, and dedicated a song to her called ââ¬Å"Moonlight Sonataâ⬠. Even after this, she did not marry Beethoven. By October 1802, he had written the Heiligenstadt Testament confessing his deafness, and suicidal considerations. By about 1800, Beethoven was mastering the Viennese High-Classic style. Although Mozart had first perfected the style, Beethoven did extend it to some degree. Having displayed a wide range of his piano writing, he was also beginning to forge a new voice for the violin. Beethovenââ¬â¢s deafness landed him into a major cycle of depression. In his Testament, he reveals his malaise that was sending him to the edge of despair. Facilities Management Theory and Practice
Questions: 1. It has been said that perception is reality since what we perceive is what we then accept as reality and as fact. Do you think that this is the case with Great Wall Motors? Is the perception that some consumers have that the vehicles are of relatively low-quality accurate? Is it worsened by the asbestos situation? 2. Do you think that Ateco handled the asbestos problem appropriately? Provide support for your response. 3. What other options could organisations take when faced with a major public relations (PR) problem such as the one which currently confronts Ateco and their Great Wall and Chery brands? 4. Toyotas stereotype of providing a high-quality vehicle was only slightly tarnished by a safety recall for their Hilux Ute in 2010. Are stereotypes always true? How can we manage in ways that lessen the negative impacts of the stereotypes that we hold of other individuals, groups, organisations or brands, especially if the stereotype has no real basis in reality? Answer: 1. Perception is reality, this underling statement states the true corner to the human recognition. Many people have their own set of viewing and actualizing things. They only believe after they perceive it and believe after they get into the real facts. This is a natural tendency that these days motor and vehicles have set their privilege claiming more about their speculations and diving into the chances of upliftment. This characterization of people has a sense of virtual and real concept evoking due to the base of scaling factor. As seen the present scenario of branding and model of cars rear view of stationing in the market is more than a buzz world. In this case it is absolutely sure that this forwardness to take perception as reality was found with Great Wall Motors too (Anderson et al, 2015). People were much affected with the growing stream of Australian Cars leading motors that it their ideas went like a constant praise among the owners all around the country. Taking into picture the facts about new and upcoming cars like Great Wall Ute China that consumer found was momentarily a chosen frame of pleasing. Because of many lining trending brand name aroused out of China new market and bundling in Australia made a great distinction to the showcase (Berg et al, 2015). It also enlarged its dimension offering safety, technology, reassurance and reliability standards of services thus inhabiting critical minds among the consumers. Here we see the company Ateco distributing this low priced Chinese brands; the Great Wall Ute (Berg et al, 2015). Being under the same privilege that the owner had found concerning the dealership making rose up to a high level giving satisfaction to many riders. Seeing its rapid growth led to the distinct thinking upon the consumers that it represents a good dealing to health and safety (Hislop, 2013). Now regarding the perception that some consumers have that vehicles are of relatively low quality is true. This can be noted of the fact concerning one of the buyers named Toby Hagon, the motoring writer. His experience was accompanied by a rather dissatisfaction statement. This belief came up when various problems were encountered after purchasing the vehicle (Haddow, Bullock Coppola, 2013). The vehicle had to undergo certain defect in to door seals, dysfunctional cup holder, in operational parking sensors and missing number plate. Again the engine showing a relatively low power and needed regular change of gears was faced by Hagon (Alvesson Willmott, 2012). Further it is found that the engine and exhaust system contained elements of asbestos that were harmful for the functioning of cars. They pose a threat to the safety and health issues and are harmful for having a safe drive (Runyon, 2013). This situation steadily worsens Hagon since he had to sell his car leading to this difficult arrival of asbestos issues. 2. This answer could be stated here after considering the case of Toby Hagon buying the Great Wall Motor X240. As per his experience he had to face difficulties with the car leading to repair and many other bunch of maintenance. It is been seen that asbestos were found in the engine and exhaust system of the car thus leading to functional dysfunctioning. It also highlighted many other issues like slipping door seals, in operational parking sensors and missing number plate cover (Dorfman Cather, 2012). In case of asbestos problem the issues was reflected among any consumer. Now the company that sold this brand was Ateco. He had many distributions in Australia and knowing to the fact that this problem had arisen because of defect in manufacturing of car parts, necessary remedies did arouse. Now to properly recognise the issue with asbestos is a serious concern and is likely that most Australians had to face. In order to resolve this serious problem the company decided to put far of the trouble. After discovering this issue of asbestos serious supplication efforts were carried out. Ateco tried to change the engine component by changing the supplier parts on all new cars that were imported from China (Chance Brooks, 2015). This had however solved half of the issue pressing to the adjustment of working responding to settle down the problem. It however recovered the underlined statement that asked covering up the demands among the consumer handling to Ute X240 China cars. However, even after the swift respond to the problem Ateco did not properly handled the situation. It was accounted that even after letting continuous effort over replacement of car parts the change was not hidden and made a major threat to the contingency of the company. This was because the company did not inform the general public regarding the issue and made it under private concern (Walker Walker, 2012). This misstatement raised to the put forth many misleading effect among Australian seeing that asbestos pose a sensitive problem to which people might be affected with lethal disease mostly due to the continuous expose of car parts in the road. After more and more compensation funds for the victims of asbestos were arising and people those who posed threats were being support for damage that asbestos could cause. As the reality were shown at straight noting the claiming made by Ateco regarding the lethal substances used in the manufacturing and industrial materials (Dorfman Cather, 2012). Thus positioning the great sarcastic damage occurred could not be properly settled and people still had dismays regarding the assurance of cars notwithstanding to safety engines. This possibly mean that due to the negligence and poor built in materials the harness could lead Ateco meet its crisis noting a verge insignificant among peoples point of view (Dorfman Cather, 2012). It is hard cause to discuss that no matter what whether the company had broken any of the Australians law, people were asked to meet this resolve the issue in their own accord. 3. The problem faced between Ateco and their Great Wall and Chery brands laid to a disastrous end. In public opinion there were issues that could not be directly manageable. Now since China manufactured the cars having low standards and quality and after this issue was revealed among the customer, the reassurance claim that Ateco had pressed got tarnished. Knowing to the situation that Ateco had faced in this regard to asbestos handling met to demand public opinion (Walker Walker, 2012). Since the company tried to recall the response without revealing the problem to the general public it vast the knowledge and focus to turn from people perception about the brand and model. Again the manufacturing and industrial material equipment were of low quality made with lethal substance, it is evident that it would be a threat to the sale of product reducing the chances of gaining effective ranking in the market. If this situation is reflected with any organization, the main options that can be taken should meet people acceptance to the known prior statement to the public and need assurance among the people perception. One option that is considered for the general procedure of conducting is admitting for an apology in accordance to the distribution of faulty components (Chance Brooks, 2015). Since this is a concern about safety and health issues this major issue need to be overcome through replacing all component with similar new component with quality proof material and other related seen faults. This would require a sincere apology followed by the required overcoming steps that the organization should do behalf to meet the desired sentiments of public. Since public relations allow the recommendation from organization and take primitive surety to deal with people in the most convincing manner. It also has to bring back the companys prestige and in order to do that it must ask for look for diverse effect that indulges with protecting the image of the organization. The demand of the consumer must be fetched retrieving the positive perception and gain customer base. This will surely change the dimension of product process and other requirement opting to material and manufacturing issue and then trending as per the current market challenging its future prospect and moving in its realistic approach making decision (Canali, 2016). This will relate to the facts how public relation will feature hold to the changing new idea making revealing the adoption of the organization and coping with neutral analysis. This current development to ask a better vital effort is risk undertaking. This will however develop a bridge retaining full participati on of marketing mix through the framework of car component best fixing it in real terms. 4. This question reflects to the stereotype function and makeup and shape so as to develop a critical thinking amongst the people. Here the Toyota is renowned because of the high quality vehicle making. It has led to change the dimension of people perception leading to a branded manufacturer and producer (Walker Walker, 2012). The development areas are most targeting the peoples beliefs and motifs that will otherwise guarantee to retain best in market. People have accepted Toyota with a tactical view of satisfaction and assurance. Their radical decision is accompanied with showing of interest to bring a change in the market scenario where they show their participation (Chance Brooks, 2015). Now it can be confirmed that stereotypes are not always true. This is because of the facts that they do not convey the real message otherwise bringing a virtual image in people minds. In this case it is seen the partial reflection of this term when trying to tarnish the Toyota in order to recall the safety orientation for Hilux Ute (Bozarth Handfield, 2016). This case points to the effective utilization of stereotype function and putting in the break ends of rejuvenating the concept to form the Hilux Ute. In order to manage the impact building ways to press designed principles and ethical decisions either individual, group, organizations or brands will be affected. They have come as an ascent scope in determining their radical effort to show their directive towards proposing this statement (Alvesson Willmott, 2012). Moreover, even after knowing that stereotypes have no basis in reality they pose a handling measure to acknowledge the standards of the marketplace. The improving tactics will require presenting a highly peak statement that will maximize the need for recognizing the facts. Now that safety handlings are meant for increasing customer perception bringing good rapport and assurance, this measure will help in redefining the acquired knowledge among the audience. In case of individual they look for costs and enhancement, whereas groups always want for additional changes when procured seek for benefits overall. Organizations have rather a rational thought bringing about the prosperity and thus seek good branding and relevant changes to marketing and strategy making (Berg et al, 2015). Brands however opt for advertising and name promoting which is the result of new updates and serving the customer with innovative featuring and branding styles. Thus stereotype act as an assured factor that pr oduct production will brief the renewing analysis and its management. Changes in peoples perception would ultimately diverse the peaks and fronts of audience taste letting them come into the real adversity to indulge with (Huong Thi, 2015).
